Healing Trauma

BIR62RGGjGxN5nrbnzwu_3Have you experienced a trauma in your life? I help people reclaim their lives beyond experiences from the past. My goals is to help you understand what is and what is not working to make tomorrow better than today.

Unforeseen events such as violence, death, sexual/physical assault, accidents, medical procedures, bullying or another traumatic experience can be a shock to one’s mind and body. Perhaps your life feels turned upside down.

Have you found that:

  • You feel caught in your own negative feelings and thoughts?
  • You experience irritability and easily upset not knowing why?
  • You feel tense in your body and pressure within that wants to explode?
  • You isolate and avoid family, friends or places you once enjoyed?
  • You are tearful or emotionally unpredictable?
  • Certain sounds, places, smells, or tastes bring you back to painful sensations of your traumatic experience?

There are different Types of traumatic experiences. Some experience a “single-incident” trauma such as an accident, sexual assault or another frightening event once. Even a single-incident trauma can have deep and long lasting impact. Others experience “cumulative trauma” that can come with repeated events such as physical/sexual abuse, or domestic violence and have been hidden for years.

Trauma takes on many forms. The psychological and physiological symptoms are often interwoven. You may feel unable to shake the fear and anxiety that disturbs your body day and night. Your brain and body are unable to function as it did before the trauma. Your brain and body may feel “hijacked” and under such situations to protect yourself during the time of threat.
